Tiger PrideThe Official Website of Denman Junior High |
by McKenzie Moses No Good Deed is an OK movie. The movie is rated PG-13, and it's about an unstable escaped convict who terrorizes a woman with her two children.
It wasn't what I was expecting from the preview. The movie went by very fast. The fighting scenes were very vicious and descriptive. If you were wondering if it was a good movie to go see, honestly, I don't think you should. It wasn't that good. The movie went by very fast, and it wasn't what I was expecting at all. If you really want to see it, I suggest you save your money and catch it when it comes out of DVD!

by Dorian Young It seems that as much as I brag about the high school, it comes to hunt the Junior HIgh football team. Our school has suffered all loses as the eighth grade team tries to collect a win.
Even though the season is not over, being blown-out thirty to zero is not a good sign for future references. This is the latest information about the Denman Junior High football team. by Lexie Hampton As some of you know, baseball season is around the corner. If seventh or eighth grade boys are interested, there is a sign-up sheet outside of Mr. Nippe's class. The due date for the sign-up list is September 20, 2014.
Also, tryouts are after football season. Coach Nippe says he is looking for cooperative, skilled, and well-behaved players. All players interested should come ready to win! Adrian Wilkinson is a seventh grade student. He has a love for math. He says that he loves manipulating numbers. He has also grown from August to September. "Adrian is my most improved student," says seventh grade Math teacher Ebonee Felder. She stated that Adrian had a slow start at the beginning of the year, but he is now one of her best students. Adrian believes his strength is paying attention in class.
Adrian admitted that while he loves Math, he struggles in English. He also struggles with separating himself from his peers. Adrian says that when other students do something inappropriate, "I get in trouble when I laugh with the other students." Adrian enjoys playing basketball, baseball, football, and riding his bike. He wants to try out for basketball at Denman. He describes himself as just a normal, happy kid. Coach Spinks is a first year Physical Education (P.E.) teacher at Denman Junior High. Spinks decided to be a P.E. teacher because when he was young, he was always active and loved to play sports. If he wasn't a P.E. teacher, then he would like to teach either Health or Social Studies.
Coach Spinks also teaches Character Education on Mondays. He is admired by many students. "I think Coach Spinks is a really nice person. He teaches me to respect my peers and teachers. He is a great P.E. teacher!" says DJH student LeSedrick Pittman. by Kimbriona East The boys at Denman Junior High believe it is very biased to ban them from wearing earrings while allowing girls to wear them. Most boys perceive earrings as a fashion statement.
I interviewed eighth grade students Vincent Lee and LaSteven Lewis. They both were passionate about wearing their earring studs. Vincent claims he wears them because he is "already cute, and it adds something to his features," said the confident student. LaSteven simply stated that he wears them because "it's just my style," he said. They both said they should have the privilege that girls have to wear earrings. All the boys would like to wear earrings because it brings something special to their style. by Lanyja Pittman Not trying to be a suck up, but I personally think that all of our teachers should have, at least, a once a month Teacher Appreciation Day.
Let's face it fellow classmates. We all have attitudes, bad moods, bad hair days, and teachers are the first ones we take it out on. I suggest that all students bring at least a dollar to each class one day out of the month so that our teachers could eat a lunch of their choice, or however they would like to spend it. By my calculation, this is only seven dollars a month. One dollar is appreciative, but whatever you have is acceptable to turn in. I also suggest that we could ask a student's mother to buy a card for all students to sign. Possibly if reasonable enough, we could also do this for the secretaries. I think the teachers and secretaries would truly appreciate this kind gesture. They are the doorway to our future. by Tanaya Holloway Not only do girls have fashion, but boys have fashion too! When boys are out of school, they normally wear Levis pants, and Ralph Lauren Polo or Nike Shirts. Some of them buy their clothes from JCPenny's. They also love to wear Boosie shirts. You may find them rocking Jordan's or Nike's from Hibbett Sports.
by Tania Coleman The most popular hairstyles that are around school are braids. When you wear braids, you can do anything to it to make it look better. You can create various styles, such as ponytails, buns, two braids, rope twist, fish tail, french braid, and many more. It doesn't take long either; instead, it takes less time than doing your real hair like you want it.
Some people would get tired of combing their hair every morning. I know I do! That is exactly why I got braids. That is one of the hairstyles I think people should get, and it's also a trending hairstyle. by Demiya Collins The last time Ms. Felder won the Battle of the Teachers survey. I conducted a challenge between Ms. Felder and Mrs. James. You all know what Ms. Felder wears: colorful jeans and flattering dresses. However, Mrs. James shoe game is on point, and she wears her colorful jeans with her polo shirt and Jordans.
When I conducted the survey, there was a tie between Ms. Felder and Mrs. James! I believe that Mrs. James has Ms. Felder beat when it comes to swag, but Ms. Felder won in who dresses the prettiest. What can I say? It was a tie to me because I love both teachers, and they both can dress. I'm just being honest! To Ms. Felder and Mrs. James, keep up your good work and excellent teaching! |
